Politically, we have Republicans, Conservatives, Liberals, Democrats, Libertarians, Socialists, Anarchists, and the down right ungovernable as Members. What does it matter who you are politically? You did after all fight for the freedom to hold the beliefs you hold. We try hard to keep the politics out of our internal affairs. Sometimes it is difficult, but we do try. The last Presidential election in the United States saw us witnessing new lows in political tactics - the questioning of duly awarded citations for valour by partisan political groups was an obscenity. We witnessed Veterans calling into question the medals and service of a fellow Veteran because he sought high office. Just imagine what that would do to you, if your service was the target of political scumbags. There is no question that these actions by these partisan political pricks has divided, likely for years, the Veteran community. By doing the bidding of their non blood shedding, no life risking, political masters, these Veterans who have dishonoured the service of us all, have set the stage for a political assault on the very structure of Veterans benefits. It is a shame. And just what was it done in the name of? We will all, as Veterans, be poorer because of this - and all the more insignificant in future political matters. So unnecessary. So base. Our group's main political goals are a fair deal for those who have served in the Armed Forces and their Families. It is as simple as that. Each of us hold personal views. Your politics are acceptable if you can accept the other person's views. |
